Our Farm

Our farm in North Cork is very wildlife friendly and this can be seen by the huge presence of all sorts of flora and fauna. We are in the Rural Environment Protection Scheme (REPS)funded by the EU, and crops are also grown especially for the benefit for game birds and wildlife.

We have two small ponds on the farm, and on occasion one can see otters, newts, and lampreys which are common here. The Hen Harrier also hunts here at times as well as Kestrels, Sparrow Hawks and Merlins. At night we have the Barn Owl and Long Eared Owl. Conservation headlands are used in the fields as well as beetle banks to encourage insects. Trees and shrubs, such as buddleia, are chosen especially for their benefit to wildlife.

In conjunction with Rathcormac Game And Wildlife Club we are re-introducing the native Grey Partridge to to our parish and surrounding areas. Through the club’s website we also sell game crops and wildflower seed mixes.
